Who is the last of the Oceanic 6?
Ok, last week we found out that Sun is the 5th Oceanic 6 member (along with Jack, Kate, Sayid and Hurley). According to producers, Claire’s son Aaron (in Kate’s care) is NOT one of the Oceanic 6 so that leaves one spot open. We know that in April 2007 Jack starts to go all “we gotta get back” crazy and attends the funeral for this last O6 member and nobody’s there. Based on that, I’m guessing it’s either Michael or Locke. Any other theories?
Also… did anybody else catch the date of Jin’s death on his grave? September 22, 2004 – the date of the apparent crash of Oceanic 815. How the hell did that date end up on his tombstone and who’s body is in that grave? My suspicions tell me that Jin is back on the island and still alive. Sun made no comments which would indicate that he is actually dead – just that he wasn’t there with them.
And wasn’t the mix of flash forwards and flash backs with Jin and Sun at the hospital totally freaky?
Heartless Bastards, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Thee Oh Sees, The Rolling Stones, Dr. John, The Sheepdogs, The Black Angels, The Greenhornes, Eric's Trip, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, The Telepathic Butterflies, Blitzen Trapper, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, The Kinks
I’m glad to see I’m not the only one obsessing over all this. The last few episodes have been some of the best made since the beginning of the series. Although I’m wary to ever hazard a guess on the future of this show, I think you’re right that Locke must be the last of the six. It makes no sense why he would leave the island, but who else would draw nobody to the funeral? Certainly Kate would be at Sawyer’s funeral, and everyone loves Claire. I’m going to bet against Michael though, as I can’t see him living past the end of this season.
That aside, I agree that the mix of flashbacks and flash forwards was brilliant and I was totally fooled until the last moment. Then considering this week we were back to full flashback mode, it was obviously a very nice tool to switch back to the old format. I was wondering how long they could continue to flash forward like that.
I hadn’t noticed the date on his gravestone, or at least hadn’t appreciated the significance. But I’d still say that somehow Jin is dead, otherwise Sun would be putting all her effort into getting back to the island to find him.
Thanks for making me feel less guilty about caring about all this!
hey homey, i would never have pegged you as a Lost fan. great, take on what’s happening though!
