Mustaches for Kids: Clean Shave Day
Today is clean shave day for the Ottawa chapter of Mustaches for Kids. Once again, I will be growing remotely alongside my east coast brethren to raise money for Make-a-Wish. I will do this at the expense of my facial dignity while I pass through the difficult first two weeks of the campaign before the sweet ’stache reveals itself.
So what’s involved in clean shave day? Basically, it’s all about ensuring that your facial hair meets the strict rules set forth by Mustaches for Kids. It’s probably easiest if I show you.

Notice the illegal “chinstrap” sideburns, soul patch and generally unkempt appearance. Nobody is going to give a pledge to this clown if he says he’s doing it “for the kids”. Yeah, sure. Whatever perv.

Now that’s more like it. The regulation sideburns stop at the bottom of the ear lobe and no other redeeming facial hair is evident on the face. There is, however, traces of a 5 o’clock shadow even though I finished shaving about 4 minutes before this photos was taken. Those little follicles can’t wait to put that lip rug on my mug.
So that’s it. That’s how you prepare for Mustaches for Kids.
KISS, Hayden, The Beatles, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Graham Day & The Gaolers, Spiritualized, The Rolling Stones, Little Richard, Theme Songs, The Dears, The Stooges, The Who, MGMT, The Hellacopters, Spoon
That’s some sweet Threadless there in the post-shave.
Sigh. I am sad to have missed out on clean shave day…as it only happens once a year!
